Miller-Meeks Announces Community Project Funding for Iowa’s First Congressional District in the Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C.  — U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) released the following statement about the three community projects included in the Interior and Environment Appropriations Act of 2024: 

“The Interior and Environment Appropriations Act of 2024 contains three community projects that greatly impact the quality of water in Iowa’s First Congressional District. The proposed funding would be used to upgrade wastewater treatment facilities and reduce contaminants. Thank you to the countless local leaders for advocating for improvements to water conditions and compliance.” 

The Interior and Environment Appropriations Act of 2024 includes the following three community projects submitted by Rep. Miller-Meeks:

  • $1.75 million for Fort Madison, IA, for the Combined Sewer Separation Project.
  • $1 million for Winfield, IA, for the Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
  • $1 million for Morning Sun, IA, for the Wastewater Treatment Project.
