Miller-Meeks Highlights Republican Plan to Lower Healthcare Costs

December 16, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) joined the House Republican Leadership Press Conference to discuss H.R. 6703 - Lowering Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act.

Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks is lowering premium costs for ALL Americans, not just a select group. It's time to lower premiums, expand choice, and restore integrity.

Excerpts from Miller-Meeks' Remarks:

"For 15 years, the Unaffordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, has done the opposite of what it promised. President Obama promised to lower premiums by $2500; and to bend the cost curve down. Has that happened? NO."

"Our bill lowers premiums by 11 percent by funding cost-sharing reductions the right way, not through COVID-era bailouts that benefited only big insurers. That’s up to $1,871 in savings for families each year and over $36 billion in taxpayer savings."

She continued...

"As we’re strengthening CHOICE arrangements so more small businesses can afford to offer coverage, and more workers can choose a plan that fits their lives and their budgets."

"This is a plan for working Americans, not for profitable insurance companies."
