Miller-Meeks Visits Hinnah Family Farm to Discuss Priorities for Iowa Agriculture

IOWA - Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) visited the farm of Aaron Hinnah and his family, discussing trade markets, the Farm Bill, and the future of Iowa's family farms.

The Hinnah family operates a diversified farm raising hogs and row crops alongside a tree and timber service, representative of the hardworking, multi-generational operations that make up much of southeast Iowa's agricultural economy.

"Iowa's family farms are built through generations of hard work, and it's my job to make sure Washington protects that, not stands in the way of it," said Congresswoman Miller-Meeks. "We talked trade, the Farm Bill, and year-round E15, and how the Working Families Tax Cuts, along with the death tax protections we passed, mean farms like the Hinnahs' can be passed down to the next generation instead of handed over to the IRS."

During the visit, Congresswoman Miller-Meeks and the Hinnah family also discussed concerns facing the next generation of farmers and the importance of maintaining strong trade markets for Iowa agriculture.

"I'll always stand with Iowa's family farms," said Congresswoman Miller-Meeks. "Conversations like this one with the Hinnah family are why I fight for rural Iowa every single day."
