Miller-Meeks Applauds Vermeer Expansion, New Jobs in Iowa

February 23, 2026

PELLA, IA – Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks released the following statement after Vermeer announced that it is expanding its manufacturing operations in Iowa, creating new jobs and strengthening the state’s economy.

“Vermeer is one of Iowa’s great success stories,” said Miller-Meeks. “This expansion is outstanding news for our state and for hardworking families across Southeast Iowa. By growing its operations and hiring additional employees, Vermeer is reinforcing Iowa’s role as a leader in advanced manufacturing.”

Vermeer has stated this historic expansion is in part due to policies passed by Congresswoman Miller-Meeks in the Working Families Tax Cuts.

"Vermeer is incredibly proud to call Iowa home to our headquarters. After a strong growth trajectory of more than 10 years, largely in part to the growing demand for utility installation and energy investment, this announcement of a new Vermeer Des Moines facility is the most recent investment in a series of strategic growth moves Vermeer has made. We’re grateful for the state of Iowa, the pro-business environment, the skilled workforce here and economic policies, like Working Families Tax Cuts, that have helped support Vermeer’s long-term growth."

The expansion will create hundreds of new jobs and increase Vermeer’s production capacity, further strengthening Iowa’s manufacturing base.

“Iowa workers are second to none, and companies like Vermeer prove that when we invest in American manufacturing, we see real results,” Miller-Meeks continued. “This growth supports supply chains, local businesses, and communities throughout Southeast Iowa. I will continue fighting for pro-growth policies that keep jobs in Iowa and ensure our manufacturers can compete and win.”

Vermeer’s expansion is another sign of continued economic momentum in Iowa’s manufacturing sector and a major boost for the region.
