Miller-Meeks, Blunt Rochester Celebrate National Clean Energy Week

September 27, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D. (R-IA) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) submitted a resolution to designate the week of September 25 through September 29, 2023, as “National Clean Energy Week.” This bipartisan resolution celebrates American energy innovation and starts a weeklong of activities, programming, and events dedicated to clean energy.

“National Clean Energy Week is a time to acknowledge all the progress Iowa has made from lowering emissions without mandates or reducing energy supply to offering a roadmap for other states to use as a guide to a cleaner future for America to demonstrating the opportunities that come from flexibility and an any of-the-above approach to energy production,” said Miller-Meeks, M.D. “I am proud to introduce this resolution with Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester to kick off National Clean Energy Week and find solutions, explore various industries, and celebrate the wide range of energy options available right here in the United States.”

“The 7th Annual National Clean Energy Week is a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the innovations and policies that help produce clean and sustainable energy,” said Blunt Rochester. “I’m proud to work with Rep. Miller-Meeks to show that clean energy isn’t a partisan issue and that we can power our homes and economy in a way that helps us fight the climate crisis and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

“Providing all Americans with affordable, reliable, and clean energy continues to be a priority for policymakers, regardless of party affiliation,” said Heather Reams, chair of NCEW and president of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Forum. “Thank you, Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Lisa Blunt Rochester, for your collaboration in leading this bipartisan resolution that celebrates clean energy technology and innovation to reduce emissions, strengthen the economy, and power our modern world.”
