Miller-Meeks Leads Roundtable on Working Families Tax Cuts, Highlights Relief for Iowa Families and Small Businesses

April 7, 2026

BURLINGTON, IA. — Today, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, local leaders, and small business owners in Burlington for a roundtable discussion on the Working Families Tax Cuts and how the legislation is delivering real relief for Iowa families and employers.

The conversation focused on key provisions of the law, including the 20% small business deduction and reduced taxes on tips and overtime, pro-growth policies that will increase wages, support business expansion, and drive stronger economic activity across Iowa.

“Working families are the backbone of Iowa’s economy, and they deserve policies that actually work for them,” said Congresswoman Miller-Meeks. “The Working Families Tax Cuts deliver real relief by lowering taxes on tips and overtime, supporting small businesses, increasing wages, and boosting economic activity. These are commonsense solutions that put more money back in Iowans’ pockets and help our communities grow.”

Miller-Meeks has been a leading advocate for pro-growth, pro-worker policies in Congress, consistently pushing to lower costs, cut taxes, and create more opportunity for Iowa families.

During the roundtable, business owners and community leaders shared firsthand how lower taxes and reduced burdens are allowing them to reinvest in their employees and expand operations. The discussion also highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong, pro-growth economic environment that rewards work and supports small businesses across Southeast Iowa.

Miller-Meeks remains committed to advancing policies that strengthen Iowa’s workforce, support small businesses, and ensure working families have the opportunity to succeed.
