Miller-Meeks Named Republican Leader of Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, February 16th, 2022, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02)was named Ranking Member of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee.
“As a former University of Iowa faculty member, I am honored to have been named the Republican Leader of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee. I am proud to be a voice for the institutions of higher education as well as for the countless small businesses and workers in the Second District,” said Miller-Meeks. “As the Subcommittee begins to work on reauthorizing both the Higher Education Act of 1965 and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, I look forward to working with Ranking Member Foxx, Chairman Scott, and Chairwoman Wilson to improve higher education and work opportunities across the country.”

Education and workforce development beyond the high school level, including but not limited to: higher education generally, postsecondary student assistance and employment services, the Higher Education Act, including: campus safety and climate; adult education; postsecondary career and technical education, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development, including but not limited: to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, vocational rehabilitation, and workforce development programs from immigration fees; programs related to the arts and humanities, museum and library services, and arts and artifacts indemnity; science and technology programs; and domestic volunteer programs and national service programs, including the Corporation for National and Community Service.
