Miller-Meeks Statement on the Passage of the Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) released the following statement after voting YES on H.R. 6363, the Further Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act, 2024 to fund the government until mid-January:
“I am proud that the House came together and voted to responsibly pass a two-step stopgap funding continuing resolution to avoid a costly government shutdown. The appropriations bills included in this CR, prevent a ‘Christmas omnibus’ spending debacle, but most importantly, the bills ensure that Americans don’t face the real costs and pains associated with a government shutdown, especially so close to Christmas. I applaud my colleagues on our work this evening, but we must remember that we still have work to do. The House must continue to work to pass the remaining single-subject appropriation bills and avert a shutdown in January.”
