Miller-Meeks Statement on Speaker of the House Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks today issued the following statement after Representative Kevin McCarthy was elected to serve as Speaker of the House of Representatives:

“Our nation is facing a series of crises. Our southern border is flooded with illegal immigrants bringing with them illicit drugs and crime. Our economy is falling dangerously close to a recession. Our education system has kicked parents out of the picture. And the threat of China continues to grow,” said Representative Miller-Meeks. “Kevin McCarthy is the only member of the Republican conference who has put forth a plan to address these issues with his Commitment to America. He is committed to restoring our nation, and I am proud of my vote for his bid for Speaker of the House.”
