Miller-Meeks Votes to Fully Fund Government as House Passes All 12 Appropriations Bills

January 22, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) voted to pass the final four appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2026, completing all 12 annual funding bills under regular order, and without the bloated omnibus packages or continuing resolutions of the past. The final appropriations bills now head to the Senate where they are expected to have bipartisan support.

“These final bills complete the work the American people sent us here to do,” said Miller-Meeks. “House Republicans have delivered a full year of responsible government funding, restoring transparency, cutting wasteful Biden-era spending, and putting Iowa families and communities first.”

The package includes the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 (H.R. 7148) and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026 (H.R. 7147). Together, they fund key national priorities while rolling back the bloated spending levels that drove inflation and exploded the national debt.

Key Wins:

  • Securing the Border: Ends Biden’s catch-and-release programs, expands fentanyl interdiction, increases ICE funding, and defunds illegal immigration incentives.
  • Strengthening the Military: Delivers a 3.8% troop pay raise, boosts readiness, increases munitions production, and eliminates divisive DEI programs.
  • Investing in Infrastructure: Builds roads and bridges, trains 2,500 new air traffic controllers, and modernizes air systems.
  • Supporting Families & Health: Funds apprenticeships, charter schools, mental health services, and the Food is Medicine initiative, while targeting fraud and refocusing the CDC.

Iowa Impact:

Included in these funding bills is a whopping $19 million in Community Project Funding that Rep. Miller-Meeks fought to secure for Southeast Iowa, funding major road, water, workforce, and infrastructure projects across the district. This is in addition to the over $8 million she has already secured in the 119th Congress.

“This is what Iowa First governance looks like, responsible budgeting, local results, and a strong stand against Washington waste,” said Miller-Meeks. “We’ve proven Congress can fund the government the right way and deliver real wins for the people of Iowa.”
