A bipartisan bill sponsored this week by U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) would increase Americans’ access to treatment for opioid use disorder. 

“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, substance abuse and overdoses have been on the rise,” Rep. Bucshon said, “making getting safe and effective opioid use disorder treatment as soon as possible critical in keeping our communities safe and healthy throughout Indiana and across the country.”

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear pork producers’ legal challenge of a California law that restricts the sale of pork in that state.

The lawsuit, filed by the National Pork Producers Council and the American Farm Bureau Federation, attempts to nullify California’s voter-approved ballot measure dealing with hog confinement.

Earlier this month, Central Iowa saw the deadliest storm to hit our state in more than a decade.

The storm-ravaged parts of Madison and Lucas Counties, leaving seven Iowans dead and many more injured.

Homes and businesses were left in rubble. Thousands were left without power and many roads were blocked because of debris from the storms.
