WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Assistant Speaker Clark (D-MA-5) and Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) introduced a bipartisan resolution to honor the women who served in World War II and recognize the role of Representative Edith Nourse Rogers —Massachusetts’ first woman Congressman — in establishing the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps and the Women’s Army Corps.

OSKALOOSA — Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks made a stop at Oskaloosa on Thursday to meet with employees from the local Farm Credit Services of America Office.

Miller-Meeks' stop was a part of her 24-county tour in Iowa. While sitting down with everyone else around the roundtable, the Congresswoman spoke about issues involving agriculture, infrastructure, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

WASHINGTON – This week, U.S. Senators Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, joined Iowa’s Republican U.S. Reps. Ashley Hinson (IA 01), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA 02), and Randy Feenstra (IA 04) in urging President Joe Biden to uphold his promise to support biofuels.

Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Reps. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa; Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa; and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, sent a letter to President Biden on May 25 urging him to uphold his promise to support biofuels.

The letter urges the Biden administration to include biofuels in any final legislative proposal for infrastructure investments. “Biofuels are a proven climate solution that can provide a cost-effective way to lower greenhouse gas emissions while providing good jobs for rural America,” the lawmakers wrote.

I think we can all agree that the internet has become an essential part of our lives.

The increased accessibility of the internet has allowed doctors to reach patients, friends to reconnect, given our students more opportunities to learn, and workers more opportunities to live in rural America while working anywhere.

A recent report from the Federal Communications Commission stated that 97% of Americans in urban areas have access to high-speed fixed internet services. That number drops to 65% in rural America, which is unacceptable.
