WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, joined U.S. Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., writing a letter to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), demanding more information about the American Federation of Teachers’ influence on school reopening guidelines. Miller-Meeks and Murphy are both physicians and members of the House Veterans’ Affairs and Education & Labor Committees.

Recently she questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci on the United States’ response to the coronavirus.

As a doctor in Congress, she was asked to be on the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, a platform where she questioned Fauci on COVID-19 and immigration.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, May 7th, 2021, Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02) and Elaine Luria (VA-02), both veterans and members of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, introduced the Public Health Service Ready Reserve Improvement Act. This bipartisan legislation grants members of the Ready Reserve Corps the same status as reservists from the other uniformed services for the purposes of dual employment and leave for reserve service, allowing Federal civilian employees to concurrently serve in the Ready Reserve Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service.
