Senator Roger Marshall has called on the FDA to prioritize research on COVID-19 immunity responses as vaccinations are on the rise.

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) says he joined members of the Doctors Caucus to submit a letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to encourage it to improve COVID-19 vaccine research and better understand immunity to COVID-19 from those that have been vaccinated and those that have gained immunity through infection.

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — Lawmakers say there has been a rise in suicides among service members, so they’re looking to push legislation to save lives in the future.

On Wednesday, Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) and other lawmakers re-introduced legislation to support military mental health.

“We’re back here again with the help of the Senate demanding that Congress pass the Brandon Act,” Moulton said.

The men and women who serve in our military deserve our respect, admiration, and gratitude. As a veteran and member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I can think of no better way to help those transitioning from our military than by giving them access to the benefits they have earned.

Earlier this month, the House passed four pieces of legislation I introduced to help our veterans. Each of these pieces of legislation is a commonsense solution to help our veterans live better lives.

Members of the House Biofuels Caucus sent a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on June 9 urging the USDA to provide COVID-19 relief to biofuels producers under the agency’s Pandemic Assistance for Producers program.

Former President Donald Trump on Dec. 27, 2020, signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 into law. That bill, in part, provided for $11.2 billion in COVID-19 relief for agriculture.

DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-IA 02, and Randy Feenstra, R-IA 04, announced they concluded visiting every county in their districts this week, with Miller-Meeks finishing her second tour.

Miller-Meeks announced Wednesday that she visited all 24 of Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District’s counties at least twice since being sworn in on January 3.

Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks toured the Farmers Electric Cooperative solar garden, farm and other solar installations affiliated with the energy company on Monday, June 7. Famers Electric is the oldest rural electric cooperative in Iowa, but it is also recognized as a solar energy leader — more than 20% of the cooperative’s kilowatt-hours per year are generated from solar locally. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, the cooperative typically generates 100% of its energy locally.

A bill to increase the maximum life insurance coverage for service members and veterans to $500,000 has been introduced by a bipartisan group of four lawmakers who say the increase is needed to reflect inflation levels.
