February 17, 2026

MONTROSE, IA – Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks has announced that $1 million in Community Project Funding she secured for the Lee County Career Center has been signed into law.

Funding for this project will be used to build out and equip the Lee County Career Center for the mutual benefit of Lee County and southeast Iowa industries, Lee County high school students, and Lee County adult learners. The completed center will train over 150 students annually with state-of the-art equipment for manufacturing and healthcare in partnership with Lee County industries.

“Securing this $1 million investment for the Lee County Career Center is about delivering real opportunities for Southeast Iowa,” said Miller-Meeks. “This center will equip students and adult learners with the skills they need to succeed in high-demand fields like manufacturing and healthcare, while strengthening our local workforce and supporting the industries that drive our regional economy. I was proud to champion this funding through Congress and ensure Lee County families, students, and employers have access to the tools they need to thrive.”
